World of Warcraft Developer Left Blizzard After 13 Years

World of Warcraft is now more than 16 years old and due to its innovation and mechanics, it managed to become the most influential MMORPG in the entire history of video games. A title that has gathered millions of players in more than a decade and that continues to have loyal fans around the world.

One of those responsible for the great success of World of Warcraft is Chris Kaleki, Game Designer of the game who worked since the launch of the title and until a few days ago, as he quit from Blizzard, despite having up to two characters and an item inspired on him at the game.

However, the interesting thing about the resignation is the reasons that led the developer to take this decision, since he considers that the direction that Blizzard has given to WoW is not the most convenient and that it is losing its essence little by little.

Specifically, the designer says that the decisions made by the company to release Shadowlands are seriously damaging the performance and general condition of the game, as he believes that the company rushed to add new content to the updated version of World of Warcraft.

Kaleki clarified that one of the main reasons that kept him working was the launch of WoW Classic, an old school version of World of Warcraft that was released more than a year ago to relive the experience of this MMORPG to enjoy it just as it came out 16 years ago.

The success of WoW Classic has been evident and has brought together thousands of players in its world. Some players decide to buy WoW Classic gold to quickly improve their skills and complete the most difficult raids in the game, especially now with the inclusion of Naxxramas and all the content that has been added in recent months.

Returning to Kaleki’s statements, the developer points out that he does not agree with the treatment they have given to Guilds, as they have recently lost importance. This means that WoW’s solitary mode is no longer so relevant for players and that practically everything is focused on the multiplayer section.

Also, the developer added that, in his opinion, Warcraft and World of Warcraft have always had a historical background, but that it was never given as much importance as it is now since players built their own stories and it was all much more fluid. Hereweleaveyouhisstatements:

“Lately, the story is one of the most important parts of the modern game. The characters and their dramas are very absorbing the game and I think that in a virtual world, in an MMO, the players are really the story.”
